
22 Jan African Heritage Month Highlights Faith, Family and Community

Celebrations for African Heritage Month started today, beginning with the provincial launch and poster unveiling at Province House with Lt.-Gov. Arthur J. LeBlanc and Minister of African Nova Scotian Affairs, Tony Ince.
The Ties that Bind: Faith, Family and Community is this year’s theme, and recognizes the qualities that sustain the strength and unity of the African Nova Scotian community.
In Nova Scotia, there are more than 50 African Nova Scotian communities.
Furthermore, 2.4 per cent of Nova Scotians identify as African Nova Scotian.
