Children Cook’s Club

This past weekend, a new group of children from the Clayton Park West area had the opportunity to learn in the kitchen as part of the Children Cook’s Club.

Each month, six children (three groups of two) are chosen to participate in the cooking lesson.

For January, the teams prepared a three-course, Asian cuisine inspired meal, which included:

-Baked Hoison sauce chicken wings (Appetizer)

-Sweet & sour chicken balls with pineapple and basmati rice (Entrée)

-Chinese egg tarts (Dessert)

Thank you to the Sobeys on Lacewood Drive for providing a space for the children to learn and participate in such a fun, and yummy, activity. Thank you to Chef Scott Piercey for acting as the cooking guide, and a big thank you to Ifeoma Esonwune, for putting together such a wonderful event each month in order to teach the youth something new that they will take with them for the rest of their lives.
