Information and resources from the HRCE

Staff at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education are currently working remotely to safely support students, and their families, during the COVID-19 crisis.

At-home learning started this week, and the HRCE team says that if this experience has taught us anything, it’s that: ‘Together, we can do anything!’

The mandate of the learning packages is not to replace school, but to provide the students with information and learning opportunities during this new normal.

HRCE staff are especially focused on those graduating, and making sure these students receive everything they need to graduate.

Here are a few steps the HRCE is taking to assure students keep a healthy, active mind:

At-home learning resource:

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) has created a curriculum website; this will support teachers and families alike. To visit the website, please visit: https://curriculum.novascotia.ca/parentfamily-information

At-Home Student Learning Packages are being distributed by the Saltwire Network (bi-weekly) to homes across the province (Grades P to 9). These packages are for those without technological resources at home.

Youtube video on exponential growth:

The HRCE knows that when it comes to COVID-19, we should all understand the concept of exponential growth. To watch this informative video, please click: https://youtu.be/EujMGu7T4kA

Thank you to the HRCE for spreading knowledge to our students, and for always showing how much you care about the education of our children.

If you know of any overwhelmed families, the HRCE asks that they connect with their contacts:
