Kids Run Club

It was a pleasure to attend the Doctors Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting tonight at the Canada Games Centre, where they incorporated a discussion about the wonderful work the team is doing for the Kids Run Club.

Many schools in the Halifax Regional Municipality, and beyond, feature this amazing, free after-school program where it encourages the youth to get active through running.

I was joined by Minister of Immigration, Lena Metlege Diab, and Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage, Leo Glavine.

Minister Glavine made the exciting announcement that the province has granted the #KidsRunClub with $150,000.

This is spectacular news for both the group, and the children who participate, as the program teaches participants that through regular physical activity, they will display healthy habits and have a more positive outlook.

Over 17,000 kids from more than 200 schools across Nova Scotia participate in the club.
