05 Nov Ninety-Sixth Anniversary of Turkish Independence

I was pleased to attend a dinner hosted by the Turkish Society of Nova Scotia to celebrate the ninety-sixth anniversary of Turkish Independence this past weekend.

There was a lovely reception, followed by a delicious dinner. I would like to thank the President of the Turkish Society of Nova Scotia, Mr. Haluk Alemdar as well as Suzie Ketene for inviting me. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent MC, Gokce Yucel and entertainer Kaan Abaci, who sang beautifully in Turkish and other languages. It was so wonderful to see the vibrancy of the Turkish culture here in Halifax.
