Today is Vimy Ridge Day – an annual observance to pay tribute to Canadians who victoriously fought in the battle of Vimy Ridge in northern France during the First World War.
Nearly 30,000 Canadians fought at Vimy Ridge and claimed victory on Easter Monday in 1917. However, this victory came at an incredibly high cost of approximately 11,000 casualties – all of whom we remember today.
