I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Kathryn Morse and Iona Stoddard for being elected to City Council for District 10 and 12.
I am excited and looking forward to working with you both on shared provincial and municipal projects. Get ready for Zoom meetings 😂 Three women working together can achieve amazing things!
Iona is the first Black female councillor to be elected in city council history! Iona’s victory shows a whole generation of young Black women that it’s possible to be a successful leader within their community.
This year’s municipal election had a record-breaking number of women elected- 8! I am so happy to see more knowledgeable, powerful, and strong women elected to office.
Thank you to everyone who ran and participated in our democratic system where everyone has a chance at winning!
