Art for Peace, Iraqi Art & Craft Exhibition

Last Saturday, I attended the Art for Peace Iraqi Art & Craft Exhibition at the Canada Games Centre.

The Iraqi community in the Halifax Regional Municipality put this exhibit together to reflect the struggles of the Iraqi people and displayed it through gorgeous art.

The idea arose when protesters in Iraq changed protesting squares into portraits, and a group of artists have now come together to donate their work.

All the proceeds of this exhibit will go to support Iraqi protesters with medications; There are currently 5,000 injured and thousands harmed due to tear gas.

I learned a touching story of heroism about the TukTuk car from the owner of Little Picasso Art Centre; A beautiful ornament was given to me for my personal donation to Enas Jawad.

I was happy to attend this humanitarian event that displayed unity and solidarity between the docent Iraqi communities and the other Arabic communities.
