August Coffee & Conversation

Yesterday, during Coffee & Conversation, we were visited by Dhaba Express owner, Faizal Junus & his eldest daughter — Katelyn Junus.

Katelyn has an incredible personal story; she was diagnosed with kidney failure at the Halifax Infirmary’s ICU due to a genetic condition on July 16th, 2015. Luckily, Katelyn’s mother was a match, allowing her to have her transplant surgery on June 28, 2016.

Katelyn studied at NYU and worked as a social worker with dialysis patients, but once COVID-19 struck, she decided the best place for her to be was home in Nova Scotia.

While in self-isolation, Katelyn had a lot of time to brainstorm. She came up with the amazingly delicious idea of POSH THALI.

Posh Thali is essentially a treasure box of delicious Indian food — both salty and sweet! Her ‘Gold Fundraiser Box’ is $45; ten dollars of the proceeds (of each box) will be donated to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.

For additional information on the boxes and pricing, please visit: https://poshthali.ca/ 24 hours notice is required if you’d like to order.

Katelyn delivered a box to our office… and it was absolutely marvellous! Zeina and I enjoyed every bite. And, it is a great gift idea for any occasion!

We wish you the best of luck with your new business, Katelyn! We see wonderful things in your future.
