Merry Christmas everyone

Growing up as a christian in Iraq, Christmas “Eid Noël” was a time spent visiting aunts and uncles and having lots of our favorite food. My father went to great lengths to find a real Christmas tree every year! Decorating the tree was magical for my three siblings and I. We often played I spy with my little eye searching for a specific ornament.

I first learned of the magic of Santa in England and In Canada and the joy he brings to kids on Christmas Eve. My daughters loved putting out the milk and cookies in anticipation of his arrival.

It has been a difficult year, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and one day soon we will all be able to get together with everyone that we love. This year let your holiday festivities remain joyful with your family or close friends in a small group of 10. We can still indulge in the magic of Christmas and the holidays.

We are so lucky to be living in Nova Scotia, I am sure Santa will have no issues visiting all of the children as it is one of the safest places to be!

Sending my best wishes to all of my constituents have a cheerful and safe Christmas Eve.
